Objective: 

The aim of the course is to hone the translation relevant German and English language skills of the students, to give them translation practice of translating basic technical and non-literary and literary texts, to make them aware of the various factors, which play a major role in translation.

Course Outcomes: 

CO 100 - Exercises to develop the translation relevant German and English language competence

 CO 101 - Introduction to translation practice with basic level technical texts from natural sciences like Chemistry, Physics, Biology etc.

 CO 102 – Discussion of the various factors involved in translation such as Translation Aids, Genre,generic knowledge, parallel texts, concept of equivalence in translation etc

CO 103 – Explanation of the terms ‘translation’, ‘translation studies’ and ‘translation theory’

CO 104: Explanation of the terms ‘translation’, ‘translation studies’ and ‘translation theory’

CO 105: Contribute effectively  in course-specific  interaction.
