Report about the Visit by eminent Germanist Prof. Ganeshan at the IIS University

It was a matter of great honour and pride for the German Department to organize a three day Workshop  with Prof. V. Ganeshan, an  eminent scholar of German Language & Literature and ex Vice- Chancellor of CIEFL (now EFLU),Hyderabad from 5^th October to &7^th October, 2017 in the new A.V.Hall and in the German Department. The subject of the Workshop varied from various intricacies of German Grammar to literary epochs of German literature. But the most interesting part of this three days' long  Workshop was doing a German Song workshop where all the students of the department participated with great fervour and enthusiasm. In the workshop Prof. Ganeshan not only explained the meaning and grammar of numerous of lyrics in German but also sang with accurate meter and rhythm as were suitable to different songs.

The Workshop was well attended by students of German Department.We had also the honour of having Prof. Dr. Pawan Surana, President of Indo-German Society as well as Mr. Hemant Agrawal, Associate Professor in the German Department, Manipal University and Mr. Rajesh Mendiratta  amongst us. On the last day i.e 7^th October of the lecture series the students came up with very positive feedback about the various lectures, particularly talking how it helped them in their academic enrichment and understanding of German language &literature. In the end  Ms. Prachi Goswami , Head , German Department extended  the vote of thanks to Prof. Gasneshan  and also presented him a memento as a token of honour. The event concluded with an overview of the deliberations on all three days presented by Mr. J.P.Karna, Senior Assistant Professor in the German Department.
